Find Plants Quick Tour
Step 1 of 7How the Find Plants workflow works
Enter at least three letters in Plant Name, choose your location method (Zip + Distance or State), then run Search to load matching plants.
- Use common or botanical names; the search supports both.
- Search first returns plant matches, then supplier details appear after you click a plant.
- Switch between List and Images view to browse results in the format you prefer.
Search by Zip + Distance
Use this when you want listings near a specific location. Choose a distance radius and enter a valid ZIP code.
- Smaller radius gives tighter local results; larger radius broadens supplier options.
- Selecting "All" distance removes the radius limit and can return broader inventory coverage.
- ZIP + distance is ideal for project-specific delivery or pickup planning.
Search by State + service-area option
Use State search when you want inventory available across an entire state instead of a ZIP radius.
Enable "Show further nurseries that service my area" to include suppliers outside your immediate geography that still deliver into your area.
- Great for hard-to-find plants where local stock is limited.
- Useful when you can accept shipping or longer delivery routes.
Preferred vendors filter
If your account has preferred vendors configured, you can limit results to those suppliers only.
- Turn on Preferred Vendors Only to keep results aligned with your approved network.
- Use preferred zones to narrow results to specific operational regions.
- This helps standardize purchasing and maintain vendor consistency.
Filters after search
After the initial search, PlantANT loads additional filters so you can refine by what matters most for your project.
- Use filters to reduce noise and focus on plants/suppliers that meet your requirements.
- Refining filters updates your result set without restarting the entire workflow.
- On mobile, use Filters and Accept & Close to apply filter changes efficiently.
Plant selection step
The first results panel is plant names. Click a plant entry to load supplier listings, pricing visibility, and related details in the lower section.
- Think of this as a two-step flow: 1) find matching plant, 2) review suppliers carrying it.
- Use this click step before comparing suppliers or requesting availability.
- If no supplier appears, broaden your location settings or filters.
Understanding image search results
Switch to Images to quickly browse visual matches, then open promising items for deeper supplier and inventory review.
- Image mode helps when common names have many look-alike options.
- Return to List mode when you need structured details for comparison and action.
- Tip: run a broad query first, then tighten filters for the final shortlist.
